For a couple of years, Barton Street Wine Bar in Bath was the place to be. I was the house pianist, and every weekend we'd pack the place out.

Three floors of people, plus the crowd spilling outside — all singing Bohemian Rhapsody at the top of their lungs. The whole building shaking with it. That's when you know you've created something special.

I start with familiar songs that ease people in. Background music that gradually draws attention to the piano. The early birds start humming along...

As confidence grows, I bring out the crowd pleasers. A few brave souls start singing. Then a few more. Before long, the whole room is joining in.

Full Voice

This is where the magic happens. Everyone's singing. Requests are flying in. The energy is electric. Strangers are arm in arm belting out Bohemian Rhapsody.

The Big Finish

We go out on a high. The anthems, the encores, the songs that send everyone home buzzing. They'll be talking about it for weeks.

Don't worry — I've done this hundreds of times! I build gradually, starting with familiar background music and slowly drawing people in. The songs do the work. By the third song, even the reluctant ones are singing. It's about creating a safe, fun environment where people want to join in.

Can you learn our favourite songs? expand_more

Absolutely! If there are specific songs that are meaningful to your group — maybe a deceased relative's favourite, or a song from your university days — let me know in advance and I'll make sure it's in the set. Requests on the night are welcome too.

How loud does it get? expand_more

That depends on you! I can keep it as gentle background music with occasional singalong moments, or I can build to full-volume party mode where everyone's belting it out. We'll discuss what works for your venue and your crowd.

Do you provide lyric sheets? expand_more

I can do — though honestly, for most singalong songs people know the words (or at least enough to join in on the chorus!). For more obscure requests or if you'd like everyone to have the full lyrics, I can provide printed sheets or digital versions for screens.

What equipment do you bring? expand_more

I bring a high-quality stage piano with amplification suitable for any venue size. For larger events or outdoor venues, I can provide PA speakers. If you have an acoustic piano at the venue, even better — I'm always happy to use it.
